Summary
Addenbrookes Hospital is one of the highest volume kidney cancer surgical centres in the UK, with expertise in the management of small renal masses with robotic partial nephrectomies, larger tumours through laparoscopic and open radical nephrectomies, and locally advanced disease in the form of IVC Thrombectomy. In addition, there is close interdisciplinary team working between Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Clinical Genetics and Histopathology. Research is embedded within the patient pathway, with the majority of our patients involved in biobanking, surgical, neo-adjuvant or adjuvant trials. Outputs from these trials are frequently presented in high impact journals and international conferences.
