Interim Management AccountantTaunton | Up to £30 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | Immediate Start | 5 Days On-Site

Hays are delighted to be supporting a successful and growing manufacturing business in Taunton with the recruitment of an Interim Management Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to join a busy finance team and make an immediate impact. The organisation is seeking someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of month-end processes and support the Finance Manager during a key period.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information to support operational and strategic decision-making.Key responsibilities will include:

Preparation of monthly management accounts

Posting journals, accruals and prepayments

Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations

Sales, margin and cost analysis reporting

Supplier payment runs

Fixed asset register maintenance and depreciation postings

VAT return preparation

Supporting month-end and year-end processes

Assisting with audit requirements

Producing ad hoc financial reports and analysis

Supporting process improvements and wider finance projects

What You'll Need to SucceedTo be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

Previous experience in a Management Accountant position

Strong month-end accounting experience

Experience producing management accounts independently

Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills

Strong Excel skills

Previous experience within a manufacturing or SME environment

The ability to work independently and quickly establish yourself within the team

CIMA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience

Essential Requirements

Sage 200 experience

Available to start at short notice / immediately

Comfortable working on-site in Taunton five days per week

Experience delivering management accounts and financial reporting in a hands-on environment
