Please note for this role you will need the ability to travel independently and in a timely manner across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to meet strict time deadlines.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support the development and delivery of a volunteer-led service for end-of-life patients living in the community across Fenland and St Ives.

The overall aim of the project is to enhance compassionate care for people at the end of life across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. You will coordinate a project that has the potential to make a meaningful difference to individuals and their families, supporting people to live and die well.

The successful candidate will bring experience in volunteer coordination or administration, alongside excellent organisational, communication, and networking skills. You will be supported by the CPFT Voluntary Services team, with bespoke training and ongoing guidance to support you in recruiting and developing volunteers.

The role requires a flexible, hybrid approach, with travel across Fenland, St Ives, and the wider region, including attendance at in-person meetings and events. Due to the nature of volunteer recruitment, some evening and weekend working will be required.

We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, particularly those with protected characteristics. If you would like to find out more about the role or the project, please contact us on 01733 317800.

Support the ongoing delivery and development of the Community Butterfly Volunteer Service, ensuring it continues to provide meaningful benefits to patients, staff, volunteers, and local communities.

Take day-to-day responsibility for the recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, feedback, and ongoing support of Butterfly Volunteers.

Coordinate and oversee volunteer activity, ensuring volunteers are well-supported, appropriately deployed, and working within agreed boundaries.

Support the Head of Charity and Voluntary Services Manager in the growth and promotion of the service, helping to increase volunteer involvement in palliative and end-of-life care across the community.

Contribute to monitoring and evaluating the impact of the service, supporting continuous improvement and sustainability.
