Summary

The Finance & Stock Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day financial management and stock control of the business. As part of a small but dynamic team, the successful candidate will support multiple areas of the operation, ensuring efficient use of resources, accurate financial records, and effective procurement and stock management. The role requires strong organisational skills, financial awareness, and the ability to manage both finance and purchasing responsibilities.

Main duties include:

• Manage the day-to-day finances of the business, including recording sales and expenses, maintaining accurate bookkeeping, and preparing monthly management accounts and annual financial statements as required.

• Handle petty cash, monitor daily spending, and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.

• Manage supplier invoices, payments, and financial reconciliations to keep accounts up to date.

• Purchase kitchen stock, including food ingredients, packaging materials, and other necessary supplies.

• Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock checks, and maintain accurate inventory records.

• Work with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and manage stock usage to minimise waste and avoid shortages.

• Process staff salaries and payroll accurately, maintaining employee payment records and managing pension contributions.

• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with payroll and other financial regulations.

Skills and Education:

• Previous experience in the food business, finance and inventory management.

• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or stock management software.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
