Summary

Chris has autism, learning disabilities and epilepsy. He is verbal but has significant language and social communication difficulties. His behaviour can sometimes be challenging when things go wrong for him but he is generally rewarding and fun to work with. He loves buses and trains, going to the cinema, jigsaw puzzles, eating custard, taking pictures with his iPad. He doesn't like fruit and vegetables, noisy babies and loud music.

Chris has epilepsy with seizures on average once a month. His PA needs to be confident to respond to a seizure to ensure his safety and well-being and to administer emergency medication when required. Experience of dealing with epilepsy is welcomed, but training will be provided.

Evening sessions at home involve activities like a movie night watching a Disney DVD or doing a jigsaw puzzle.

Daytime sessions involve activities like volunteering, travelling on public transport, going shopping, bowling or spending time at home. Simon is a fast walker so needs a PA who is physically fit to match his pace and keep him safe out in the community.

This is absolutely not a temporary job. We need someone who can commit to developing a relationship with an autistic person who finds communication difficult. Could suit a student with availability for at least the academic year.

• This is a PAYE job, hourly rate over London Living Wage £15.15 plus paid holiday entitlement.

• 2 recent and checkable references are required.

• DBS check is required which the employer will organise.

• Proof of entitlement to live and work in the UK is required if not a UK citizen.
