Summary
Location: Covering the UK, Regions Shropshire, South and the Midlands, nationwide travelling required
Hours: 37.5 per week, mainly Monday to Friday (flexibility required as field-based job)
The Role
As a Health & Safety Advisor you will be joining our team to perform the critical role of assisting our Clients in managing their health and safety commitments as part of MBO’s contractual obligations.
The role is covering predominantly the UK, areas between Shropshire, South and the Midlands (although travel nationally will be required).
Key responsibilities include:
Undertake site inspections and audits.
Provide assistance to our Clients construction sites, ensure compliance with CDM regulations to include, completing risk assessments, construction phase plans, inspections and inductions.
Prepare detailed technical reports to be presented to our Clients in a professional manner, which are proportionate to the Client’s needs.
Prepare written systems and policies for our Clients, in compliance with the requirements of HASWA, supporting regulations and codes of practice.
Provide assistance to Clients with undertaking risk assessments.
Assist Clients with accident investigations and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Liaise with enforcing authorities as appropriate.
Prepare and support Clients with achieving annual third party accreditations, i.e. CHAS, SMAS, SSIP, SafeContractor etc.
Train and mentor colleagues as required, to help develop a multi-disciplined team of health and safety professionals.
Skills and experience required:
Health and Safety professional holding minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate qualification.
Demonstrable experience working as a Health and Safety professional.
Strong commercial awareness, able to determine business priorities.
Can make decisions independently using sound judgement.
A professional and amenable attitude, driven, conscious and self-motivated.
High level of organisational skills, able to multi-task and manage own workload proficiently.
Strong commitment to delivering exception customer service.
Excellent communication skills at all levels including excellent standard of written and spoken English.
Flexibility in use of time, embraces change and a willingness to adapt to new ways of working.
A clean driving licence (Mileage allowance paid for use of personal car)

Desirable Skills:
Level 3 Award in Education and Training / PTTLS along with the ability to teach health and safety courses to our Clients.
Emergency First Aid at Work Instructor Qualification, proven annual requalification in date and maintained.
Experience in the construction industry along with holding a Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Qualification.
Preferably hold a Management or Academically Qualified CSCS card.
Fire Safety Qualifications in NEBOSH.
