As part of this role there is a teaching commitment of 3 hours per week.
Who we need
We’re looking for an ambitious and inspirational Head of Faculty to lead our A level (Year 2) provision and make a real difference to the experience and outcomes of our students. You’ll bring energy, vision and collaborative leadership to a role where you can shape curriculum, develop people and drive continuous improvement. This role will be overseeing Year 2 alongside the Social Sciences faculty, which is one of our five A level faculty areas.
· Lead for excellence – drive outstanding teaching, learning, assessment and student outcomes.
· Shape the future – develop an agile, aspirational curriculum that responds to student, employer and regional needs.
· Champion A Levels – lead the A Level student experience, achievement, retention and progression.
· Inspire your team – develop, motivate and support staff to achieve their best.
· Make an impact – use data, partnerships and innovation to improve performance and strengthen the student experience.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced and passionate educational leader, with a background in A levels, who knows what great curriculum delivery looks like and has the drive to make it happen. You’ll combine
strategic vision with strong people skills, a commitment to excellence and a genuine focus on student success.
· Experience of teaching/managing A level Sociology and/or Psychology
· Curriculum leadership experience within an A level environment, with a proven record of improving teaching, learning and student outcomes.
· A Level experience and a strong understanding of the student journey, achievement and progression.
· A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification
· Strong people leadership skills, with experience of developing, motivating and managing teams.
· A data-driven approach, with the ability to turn insight into action and deliver against targets.
· Excellent partnership and communication skills, with a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement.
