Summary
The role will provide opportunity for the right candidate to improve own skills and offers great career opportunities. It is suitable for one wishing to pursue a career in Law, seeking work experience and or training opportunities through the apprenticeship scheme or such similar arrangements.
The duties include the following:
• Conduct interviews with clients
• Gain understanding of client expectations and requirements
• Assess legal problems
• Assist clients
• Conduct legal research
• Draft case papers
• Obtain information from relevant experts
• Assess the strengths and weaknesses of your client’s case and the other party’s case
• Instructing barristers
• Negotiate settlements
• Assist to issue proceedings
• Attend court to assist and/or with counsel and/or to take notes
• Make applications to the court
Administration
• Actively participate in supervision and appraisal
• Maintain files, whether electronic or paper
• Follow administrative systems and procedures
Development
• Improve competency in the SRA skills standards
• Participate in team meetings and business development activities
• Attend internal courses and training
