Class Teacher – Special School

This exceptional special school in the Coleshill area is seeking an enthusiastic Class Teacher to join its welcoming team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly supportive specialist school that caters for children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), communication needs and associated learning difficulties. As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, personalised lessons to a small class of pupils, adapting learning to meet individual needs and creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, specialist staff and a dedicated leadership team who are committed to ensuring both pupils and staff thrive.

Whether you are an experienced SEND Teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into specialist education, this school can provide the support and professional development needed to succeed.

The Role:

- Teaching a small class of pupils with special educational needs

- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons

- Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development

- Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment

- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals

- Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP targets

- Building positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies

- Promoting independence, confidence and achievement

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

- Experience teaching primary or secondary-aged pupils

- A passion for inclusive education and SEND

- Strong classroom management and communication skills

- The ability to adapt learning to meet a range of needs

- A patient, creative and resilient approach

- Previous SEND experience (desirable but not essential)
