Summary

Report any conditional changes of the child, which are causing concern to the parents/carer and/or trained nurse. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations. Undertake transfer and escort of the dependent child if appropriate Inform the trained nurse if the delegated tasks are beyond the post-holders level of Competence Key Responsibilities undertake competency based practice based around the needs of the individual This will include Being able to practice some or all of these additional skills: Recognise different types of ventilation Type of ventilator Pulse oximetry Carbon Dioxide monitoring Oxygen administration Suctioning and use of suction machine Tracheostomy care Gastrostomy/jejunostomy care Humidification devices Feeding pumps, Emergency equipment Nebulisers Medication administration Contribute to the development of services and ensure the effective and efficient use of resources, notifying the Team Leader of any equipment difficulties. Manage and maintain equipment as appropriate within Wirral NHS guidelines. Participate in patient and public involvement activities. Support peoples equality, diversity and equal rights. Provide client independence/self-care wherever possible advocate in the best interest of the child at all times. Be mindful and respectful of different lifestyles, cultures and religious beliefs. Through liaison with Team Leader/Manager, participate in the annual appraisal
