Summary

The Fetal Wellbeing Midwife provides specialist leadership for fetal wellbeing education, training, quality improvement and patient safety across Maternity Services. Working as part of the Maternity Education Team, the post holder will lead educational programmes that enhance staff competence in fetal surveillance, fetal monitoring and clinical decision-making. The role combines clinical practice, workforce development, governance and service improvement responsibilities. The post holder will provide expert advice, support the development of policies and standards, undertake audit and quality assurance activities, facilitate learning from incidents and maintain a visible clinical presence to support staff in practice. Through education, leadership and collaboration, the Fetal Wellbeing Midwife will promote evidence-based practice, support safe and effective care, and contribute to improving outcomes for women, birthing people and babies.
