Summary
Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced
Machine Operator to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Walsall area.
THE ROLE
• Operate and monitor cold rolling mill machinery in line with production schedules and work instructions.
• Set and adjust machine controls to achieve the required dimensions, quality and production output.
• Monitor the rolling process and identify any defects, faults or issues during production.
• Feed and load raw materials into machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out basic quality checks using measuring equipment and ensure products meet required specifications.
• Complete production paperwork and accurately record quantities, measurements and production data.
• Assist with manual handling, material movement and loading/unloading of coils and finished products.
• Report machine faults, quality issues or production problems to the supervisor or management.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
• Work as part of a team and demonstrate a positive 'can-do' attitude.
ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience operating cold rolling, roll forming, slitting or similar metal processing machinery is highly desirable.
• Experience within a steel, metal processing or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate machinery and make basic adjustments to settings.
• Good understanding of production processes and quality requirements.
• Comfortable with manual handling and working with heavy materials.
• Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as verniers, tape measures and gauges.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
• Experience completing production records and paperwork.
• Basic mechanical understanding would be advantageous.
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious and willing to work as part of a team.
• A positive 'can-do' attitude and willingness to learn is essential.
HOURS OF WORK
06:00am - 14:00pm Monday to Friday
or
14:00pm - 22:00pm Monday to Friday
PAY RATE
£12.71 - £13.01
