Contracts Manager – Tier 1 Main Contractor

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £90-£100k + Package

Projects: Major Schemes totalling £100m+

We are partnering with a leading

Tier 1 main contractor to appoint an experienced

Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of high-value commercial construction projects. This is a senior leadership role suited to an individual with a proven track record managing complex schemes at scale.

The Role:

As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for multiple live projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, profitably, and to the highest standards. You will provide strategic oversight, support project teams, and act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders. This is a high-impact role at the heart of the organisation’s regional operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful delivery of commercial construction projects totalling £100m+

  • Provide operational leadership and support to Project Managers and site teams

  • Ensure robust planning, risk management, and programme oversight across all sites

  • Maintain a strong commercial focus, managing budgets and ensuring profitable delivery

  • Uphold all health, safety, and quality standards across each project

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners

  • Drive best practice, continuous improvement, and consistent delivery excellence

    About You:

    • Demonstrable experience working as a

      Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within a

      Tier 1 main contractor

    • Proven background delivering major construction schemes in excess of

      £100m

    • Proven background in delivering projects within the education sector

    • Strong commercial awareness and strategic leadership capabilities

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    • Ability to lead multiple project teams simultaneously while maintaining exceptional standards

    • A forward-thinking, solutions-focused approach to large-scale project delivery
