This position would be suitable for those who wish to further their careers within a hospital environment where clinical roles are rapidly advancing in order to meet the challenges of the new NHS. The successful candidate will be required to complete a recognised Managing Minor Injuries course within the first 12 months in post. Applicants will be expected to assess, diagnose, treat and discharge or refer patients with minor injuries independently upon qualification. This post is also open to Allied Health Professionals who also wish to work in the Emergency Department setting, who have completed, or are willing to undertake, a course in the Management of Minor Injuries. Applications must be permitted to administer and supply PGDs. Please be aware this role is cross site between LGI and SJUH. What you will bring to the role Registered Nurse or AHP with extended experience in a first contact setting e.g. Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit or pre-hospital emergency care Insight into, or experience of, emergency care Willing to undertake role specific training and competencies e.g. university Minor Injuries course, triage to x-ray, PGDs, plastering, x-ray comments course, etc. High standards of professional practice Teaching/assessing qualification (desirable) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Please see the attached job description for further information about this vacancy.
