Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced MET Technician for a well-established accident repair business in Telford, Shropshire. This is a compelling opportunity for skilled professionals to join a reputable team committed to quality and safety standards.

Duties of the MET Technician:

- Dismantling damaged vehicles following repair estimates and manufacturer repair methods

- Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components safely and efficiently

- Reassembling vehicles to manufacturer and company standards

- Identifying additional damage or missing parts

- Checking parts for correctness and availability

- Reconnecting and testing mechanical and electrical systems post-repair

- Ensuring safety-critical components are fitted correctly and securely

- Performing quality control checks before vehicles proceed to the next repair stage

- Working collaboratively with estimators, workshop controllers, and colleagues

- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment

- Adhering to all health & safety procedures, repair methods, and company policies

Requirements of the MET Technician:

- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a MET Technician within an accident repair or bodyshop environment

- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and trim systems

- Ability to interpret repair estimates, technical instructions, and manufacturer repair methods

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Good understanding of workshop health & safety procedures

- Capable of working effectively as part of a team

- Professional attitude and reliable work ethic

- IMI accreditation is preferred

- Familiarity with vehicle safety systems and modern accident repair techniques
