Job Title Salaried General Practitioner Organisation HESA Medical Centre, Hayes, Hillingdon Hours Full-time up to 10 sessions per week Posts Available 2 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Salaried GP positions Job Summary HESA Medical Centre is seeking experienced, motivated and patient-focused Salaried GPs to join our multidisciplinary clinical team. The successful candidates will provide high-quality general medical services to our diverse patient population and contribute to the safe, effective and efficient delivery of primary care services. The role will include routine and urgent consultations, management of acute and long-term conditions, prescribing, referrals, clinical administration and participation in practice quality improvement activities. You will work closely with GP partners, salaried GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, physician associates, phlebotomists and our wider administrative and management teams. Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Care Provide face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations. Assess, diagnose, investigate and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions. Develop appropriate treatment and management plans in partnership with patients. Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with clinical guidelines and local prescribing policies. Review and manage patients with long-term conditions. Undertake appropriate referrals to secondary care and other community services. Review investigation results, hospital correspondence and clinical documents and take appropriate action. Provide appropriate follow-up care and safety-netting advice. Support preventative healthcare, health promotion and disease prevention. Contribute to vaccination, screening and recall programmes. Provide home visits where clinically appropriate and in accordance with practice arrangements. Participate in the practice duty and urgent-care rota as required. Clinical Administration Maintain accurate, clear and contemporaneous patient records. Complete clinical correspondence and documentation promptly. Review and action pathology and diagnostic results. Process prescriptions, medication queries and medication reviews as appropriate. Complete referrals, reports, certificates and other clinical documentation within appropriate timescales. Ensure appropriate coding and recording of clinical information. Quality and Performance Contribute to the delivery of QOF, enhanced services and other contractual requirements. Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives. Support the practice in achieving agreed clinical targets. Identify opportunities to improve patient care and service delivery. Participate in significant event reviews and clinical governance activities where required. Safeguarding Recognise and appropriately manage safeguarding concerns involving children and adults. Follow practice and local safeguarding procedures. Attend safeguarding training and meetings as required. Work collaboratively with safeguarding leads and external agencies where appropriate. Team Working Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated patient care. Attend clinical, practice and multidisciplinary meetings as required. Provide professional advice and support to colleagues where appropriate. Contribute positively to a supportive and respectful working environment. Participate in the supervision or support of other clinical staff where appropriate to experience and competence. Professional Responsibilities Maintain full registration with the General Medical Council and inclusion on the appropriate GP register. Maintain membership of an appropriate medical defence organisation. Maintain evidence of continuing professional development. Participate in annual appraisal and revalidation. Work within GMC Good Medical Practice and all relevant professional standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with information governance and data protection requirements. Complete all mandatory training required by the practice. Work within practice policies, procedures and clinical governance arrangements. Person Requirements The successful candidate will: Be a fully qualified GP with current GMC registration. Be included on the GMC GP Register. Be eligible to work in UK General Practice. Have appropriate medical indemnity. Have excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. Be committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate good organisation and time-management skills. Have a good understanding of safeguarding, clinical governance and patient safety. Be confident using electronic clinical systems. Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development. Experience of EMIS Web and working within a busy general practice environment would be advantageous.
