Summary

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the enhanced recovery pathway for patients undergoing hip and knee arthroplasty Deliver patient education sessions to support informed consent and expectation management Monitor and evaluate patient progress throughout the perioperative pathway Active involvement in the morning team brief Promote early mobilisation, effective pain control, and timely discharge Recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration or complications Review early post op patients particularly with regard to possible complications such as wound infection Be a single point of contact for patients throughout their journey Liaise promptly with consultants EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training Contribute to the education of staff on enhanced recovery principles Maintain up-to-date knowledge of orthopaedic and perioperative care Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation. Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff.
