About the Employer

I am a parent of four children. Three of my children are now adults, and my youngest child. My youngest child is autistic and pre-verbal. We are a small, close-knit family. We are supportive, loving, and work together to provide a stable and nurturing home. Our youngest child is at the heart of our family, and we are committed to helping them feel safe, understood, and able to access the opportunities and support they need to thrive.

As a family, we advocate strongly for our child because we know them best. Our goal is to provide a safe and secure home environment, ensure they receive the right support, and promote their inclusion in family and community life. We work collaboratively as a family and value working in partnership with professionals to meet our child's long-term needs.

We are currently looking for a buddy to provide additional support for our youngest child. We hope this will give them opportunities to build confidence, develop social and communication skills, enjoy meaningful activities in the community, and form a positive, trusting relationship. This support would also help our family by providing additional assistance to meet our child's individual needs.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.

• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.

• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
