Fast Track to Care: Supporting New Careers in Social Care
The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Fast Track to Care programme is working in partnership with Communities for Work to offer tailored support, free training, and direct access to social care employers across the region.
This initiative is designed for residents of the Vale of Glamorgan who have little or no care experience and are interested in starting a meaningful career in the sector.
The programme offers:
One-to-one support from the Communities for Work team
A 3-day WeCare Wales Introduction to Social Care course
Access to training from the Vale of Glamorgan Council
Job-matching with over 20 local care providers
Ongoing support with applications, interviews, and further training
Participants can also access accredited training aligned with their preferred care roles, including:
Emergency First Aid
Manual Handling
Infection Control
Medication Awareness
