Grade 8: Salary in the range of £49,119-£53,483 per annum. This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year.
This is a full time (100%), fixed term position for 24 months.
A lower grade offer (Grade 7: £39,424 - £47,779 per annum) may be made to a less experienced candidate if a suitable candidate cannot be found to fill the Grade 8 position.

The Dendrou group is an interdisciplinary team whose research aims to compare inflammatory diseases and immunological responses across tissues, over time and upon perturbation for translational benefit, leveraging multiomic technologies in conjunction with cutting-edge computational and machine learning approaches.

About the Role
We are offering an exciting and unique opportunity for a bioinformatician to join an interdisciplinary research programme, supported by a Wellcome Discovery Award, investigating the mechanisms that drive chronic inflammation and immune dysregulation in autoimmune liver and other immune-mediated diseases. In this role you will develop new methodologies, taking overall or shared responsibility for development/maintenance of computational pipelines for integration of omics data with other relevant datasets. You will also identify, define and plan new projects, coordinating analysis of omics data and relevant associated datasets as required to support the programme objectives. Additionally, you will manage junior data scientists to support the programme objectives as well as work closely with experimental and clinical and industry to better understand the domain, help address scientific hypotheses and support the programme objectives. You will develop well-documented open source code implementing algorithms for general use and contribute to the production of scientific reports and publications for high profile journals, including taking leadership in more specialised publications on novel aspects of bioinformatics.
