Summary

Aston University’s 2030 strategy is Inclusive, Entrepreneurial and Transformational. We are building a new model of university for a changing world, delivering measurable impact for our students, staff, partners and communities.

Within this vision, the Student Life Directorate plays a central role in assisting students from transition through to successful completion, providing expert guidance on engagement, wellbeing and student success.

The role holder will provide centralised operational, project, governance, systems, finance and compliance coordination across Student Life. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure, confident with digital systems and motivated by improving how services work behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities and Priorities

Directorate-wide operational coordination

Meeting, governance and action tracking

Digital process improvement using Microsoft 365 tools

Student Life finance processing through Unit4 ERP/Agresso, departmental purchasing and budget reconciliation

Compliance, audit, risk, health and safety and reporting support

Cross-team collaboration and high-quality records management

About You

You are an excellent organiser who can bring structure to complexity.

You are comfortable using digital tools and interested in improving processes rather than simply maintaining them.

You can manage sensitive information, deadlines and competing priorities with discretion and accuracy.

You are confident working across multiple teams and following up actions professionally.

You will have a degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant professional experience, with experience of operational, administrative, project, governance, compliance, health and safety or finance coordination in a complex organisation.

Experience in Higher Education or student-facing professional services would be advantageous.

Experience supporting operational processes such as health and safety, project coordination or compliance monitoring would also be helpful

You are comfortable using using Microsoft 365 tools such as Lists, SharePoint, Power BI or Power Automate.
