Summary

The cancer pharmacy team consists of specialist cancer pharmacists and technicians that work for the Cancer Division and is fully integrated within the Division to provide clinical pharmacy services to patients. The team also collaborates closely with the UCLH Pharmacy Department to ensure pharmacy standards are maintained. UCLH is one of Europes largest centres for blood disorder treatment and HSCT, and the chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell team manages patients with both cancer and non-cancer indications. The cancer pharmacy team are well integrated into the HSCT and CAR-T teams and they collaborate to deliver person-centred care alongside the multidisciplinary team. The UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre (MCC) opened in 2012 and encompasses our busy outpatient clinics and daycare facilities, as well as our growing ambulatory chemotherapy practice. The MCC also provides chemotherapy production services in a modern facility. The UCLH Grafton Way Building (GWB) opened in 2022 and supports our expanding haematology service, which include HSCT and CAR-T therapy. The Wolfson Cellular Therapy Unit (WCTU) supports our JACIE-accredited transplant service, as well as the supply of cellular therapy products such as CAR T-cells.
