Why this role is differentThis is a role for experienced floor layers who want to settle in and build something, not hop between short-term jobs.Planned work with realistic schedulesTrusted to manage your day once on siteNo micromanagement, no unnecessary pressureA business that hires ahead of demand, not after people burn out What you'll be doingPlanned and reactive flooring work across client sites — from routine tasks and spot repairs to small projectsWorking with a variety of floor coverings, including vinyl, carpet and safety flooringMinor repairs to wooden sub-floor structuresEstimating works, with full detail of scope and materialsAccurately recording completed works and any follow-ups via our job management systemWorking to a realistic, pre-planned schedule, with out-of-hours and on-call duties as required What you'll needExperience as a floor layer, with knowledge of fitting a variety of floor coverings including vinyl, carpet, and cap and coveExperience within the facilities maintenance sectorStrong communication and relationship management skillsA proactive approach to problem solving, and a passion for passing on knowledgeCarpentry and basic plumbing skills would be a distinct advantageGCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 (or equivalent)A full UK driving licenceWillingness to undertake an enhanced DBS checkFloor laying qualifications or an apprenticeship, project management experience, and H&S training (e.g. IOSH) are all a bonus, but not essential.
