Summary

The East London Community Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) is a multidisciplinary team including Therapies (family therapy, clinical/ counselling psychology, assistant psychology), Medical (psychiatry and paediatrics), Nursing (mental health and paediatric nursing), Dietetics, Support Workers & Administrative and Operational staff.

 

To assess level of urgency/complexity of referrals to the ARFID Pathway and to prioritise response

accordingly.

● To provide specialist psychological interventions as part of individualised treatment plans, based on

evidence-based practice and NICE-concordant approaches for ARFID (CBT-AR, FBT-ARFID).

● To evaluate and monitor psychological and behavioural risk associated with ARFID presentations and

contribute to MEED risk assessment, alongside medical and nursing colleagues.

● To contribute psychological formulation to MDT care planning, without acting as sole care coordinator, in

line with the pathway's model of consultation and liaison with local CAMHS.

● To work jointly and collaboratively with other MDT members to enhance and develop work with families

by providing highly specialist psychological knowledge and skills.

● To contribute to service development and Quality Improvement (QI) projects within the ARFID Pathway.

● To take responsibility for personal development and training needs, ensuring that knowledge and

interventions remain evidence-based and current.
