Summary
We are recruiting two experienced Night Duty Coordinators to manage single-point-of-contact operations, live incident logging, and critical decision-making between 23:00 and 07:00.
You will also be responsible for administrative tasks during your shift, however this is not a standard administrative role. As the sole duty coordinator on shift overnight, you will act as the operational anchor, managing incoming urgent police requests, triaging priority logs, and ensuring seamless handovers to our daytime teams.
Because this role involves lone decision-making and live risk management, we require proven candidates from Police, NHS, Ambulance, or Emergency Services control backgrounds who can hit the ground running with minimal training on core duty coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the main point of contact for Sussex Police overnight requests, managing incoming calls, emails, and live system logs.
Maintain accurate, real-time records on operational databases, ensuring compliance with strict data protection and confidentiality standards.
Assess incoming requests, prioritize urgent operational actions, and escalate critical incidents to on-call management when strictly necessary.
Conduct structured, detailed handovers for the incoming 07:00 AM team to ensure uninterrupted operational continuity.
Operate independently and securely under established lone-working and health & safety protocols.
How to Apply
If you have a background in police control, NHS duty coordination, or emergency services administration and want a stable, high-responsibility night role, submit your CV along with a brief cover note highlighting your direct operational/duty experience.
