Summary
To provide leadership for the podiatry service within the field of inpatient podiatry care. To provide expert clinical practice in the assessment and diagnosis of highly complex podiatric problems and deliver individualised treatment for clients with specialised care needs to maintain their mobility, independence and prevent disability. To be an active member of the Multidisciplinary Diabetic Footcare Team (MDFT) supporting and deputising for the Lead for High-Risk Podiatry care to ensure continuity of service delivery in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. Development, implementation and review of patient and clinical pathways, SOPs and clinical guidance for the inpatient podiatric service. Working with Clinical Lead for Podiatry and Orthotics to create business cases to develop the service to maintain up to date patient care in accordance with national policies and local projects. To support the Lead for High-Risk podiatry care in ongoing development of podiatry staff through clinical rotations, mentoring and supervision. To deliver training podiatrists and other health care practitioners on management of highly complex podiatric patients.
