Summary

Role purpose To provide senior academic and professional leadership in Biomedical Science and Healthcare Science, with particular responsibility for Blood Sciences. You will lead and enhance inclusive, applied teaching across undergraduate, apprenticeship and postgraduate provision. Working with students, colleagues, NHS employers and professional bodies, you will ensure curricula reflect current clinical practice, professional standards and IBMS accreditation requirements. You will undertake and lead scholarship, research, innovation, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that strengthens teaching and curriculum development. You will also support external partnerships, new educational opportunities and the Universitys reputation for professionally relevant healthcare education. Role-specific responsibilities The post holder will provide senior academic and professional leadership in Biomedical Science and Healthcare Science, with particular responsibility for Blood Sciences. Responsibilities will include: Lead and deliver inclusive, evidence-informed teaching across undergraduate, apprenticeship and postgraduate provision. Apply current or recent NHS experience to ensure teaching reflects contemporary Blood Sciences practice, professional standards and clinical laboratory environments. Lead modules and contribute to course leadership, including curriculum development, assessment, quality assurance and enhancement. Support IBMS-accredited provision and contribute to professional practice education, work-based learning and End Point Assessment. Develop productive relationships with NHS employers, professional bodies and healthcare science networks to strengthen teaching, partnerships and future provision. Support students and colleagues through supervision, guidance and mentoring, while maintaining professional currency through scholarship, continuing professional development and responsible use of emerging technologies.
