Production OperativeLocation: Bridgwater, SomersetPay: £14 per hourJob type: PermanentShift: Days, Monday to FridayA permanent opportunity is available for a Production Operative to join a well-established, independent steel roofing and fabrication business in Bridgwater.This is a hands-on, days-based role suited to a reliable and hardworking individual with previous experience in a manufacturing, production, fabrication or similar environment. Experience working with production machinery and material handling equipment would be highly beneficial.About the CompanyBased in Somerset, our client is an independent, family-run roofing fabricator and supplier. The company manufactures and supplies roofing sheets, wall cladding, flashings, trims and rooflights, with products manufactured in-house.The business prides itself on precision fabrication, quality products and practical support for its trade customers.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the day-to-day production of steel roofing and cladding componentsPrepare, handle and move materials safely and efficientlyAssist with measuring, cutting, forming and finishing tasksOperate and work safely around production machineryFollow production schedules, instructions and manufacturing requirementsWork with WIP (Work in Progress) reports to monitor production and job progressWork from BOMs (Bills of Materials) where requiredWork towards agreed KPI and production targetsCarry out quality checks on finished productsUse MHE (Material Handling Equipment) safely where trained and authorisedMaintain a clean, tidy and safe working areaSkills and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have:Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, fabrication or similar environmentExperience working with production machineryAn understanding of WIP reports, BOMs and KPI targetsExperience using MHE would be advantageousCounterbalance forklift experience would be beneficialA practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detailA strong work ethic and reliable attitudeThe ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a teamPrevious experience within steel, roofing, cladding, fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment would be particularly advantageous.Benefits£14 per hourPermanent employmentMonday to Friday, day shiftsPaid every WednesdayOpportunity to develop experience within a specialist roofing and steel fabrication environmentVisible to local employersIf you have previous production or manufacturing experience and are comfortable working with machinery, production targets and materials, this could be an excellent opportunity to join an established specialist fabrication business in Bridgwater.Apply today.
