Wrexham University is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to join our senior leadership team as Director of Campus and Place. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance and Operating Officer, this is a unique opportunity to lead the continuing transformation of our estate, infrastructure and place-making agenda as we deliver our ambitious Wrexham 2030 Vision and Strategy.

About the Role
The Director of Campus and Place will provide strategic leadership across estates, capital projects, facilities management, campus services and commercial property development. You will lead the development and delivery of a University-wide Campus and Place Strategy, creating a coherent vision that integrates physical infrastructure, digital connectivity, sustainability, security and commercialisation, across multiple campuses.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the University's long-term campus master planning and estate strategy.
Delivering major capital investment and regeneration programmes.
Championing sustainability and driving progress towards net zero ambitions.
Creating innovative, flexible and inclusive learning and social environments.
Maximising the value of University assets through commercialisation and strategic partnerships.
Supporting the growth of enterprise, innovation and research spaces.
Building strong relationships with government, funding bodies, industry, investors, local authorities and community stakeholders.
Ensuring operational excellence, compliance, health and safety, and effective campus services.
About You
We are seeking an influential and collaborative leader with a strong track record of delivering transformational change in complex organisations.
You will bring:
Essential Experience and Expertise
Significant senior leadership experience in estates, infrastructure, regeneration, property and/or major capital development environments.
Proven success delivering complex capital programmes and organisational transformation.
Experience developing and implementing long-term estate strategies, across multiple sites.
Demonstrable success in generating commercial income from property or infrastructure assets.
Expertise in managing substantial budgets, resources and risks.
Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
Experience securing external investment and funding.
Knowledge of health and safety, compliance and building maintenance legislation.
An inclusive and people-focused approach to leading large, diverse teams
Experience advising executive teams and governing bodies on strategic estate and infrastructure investment decisions.
