The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams at London North-West University Healthcare NHS Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Therapy Assistant Practitioner to deliver high quality rehabilitation to their patients. 

We are looking for an experienced, caring person to work within our existing therapy team providing a high standard of care as part of the MSK/ Neurology/ Rheumatology outpatient Physiotherapy

service  and on our Orthopaedic trauma wards at Northwick Park Hospital.

You will lead/ assist with outpatient exercise classes and help book patients into exercise classes.

As a Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you will provide clinical assessment and treatments under the supervision of qualified staff, be responsible for assisting in the triaging, prioritisation, and new patient assessments, review of equipment and care needs, delivery of rehabilitation 

programmes and discharge planning for your patients. You will need to become familiar with referral processes for community and other inpatient facilities.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential, whilst area specific training will be provided. Excellent Inter-personal skills are also essential as you will be required to liaise with clinicians, patients / carers and GPs, as appropriate

The successful applicant will need to:

- be hard working & conscientious

- To understand the psychological symptoms and conditions that can affect a person with chronic pain, trauma and illness.

- To be able to implement personalised treatment programmes

-To be able to work within a pressured and sometimes stressful environment.

- Be able to prescribe exercises and lead exercise classes.
