This pivotal leadership role will shape the future of advanced and consultant practice, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based care across a range of community services. Leading workforce transformation, professional development and service improvement, you will champion excellence across the four pillars of Advanced Practice: Clinical Practice, Leadership, Education, and Research & Improvement. Working in partnership with clinical and operational leaders, you will support the growth and governance of advanced practice roles across community nursing, therapies, urgent community response, frailty and virtual wards, rehabilitation, community hospitals and long-term condition services. Main Responsibilities Lead the strategic development, governance and implementation of Advanced Practice across BSW Community Services, ensuring alignment with national standards and organisational priorities. Provide expert professional leadership and advice on advanced practice, workforce transformation and service redesign. Establish and oversee robust governance frameworks, ensuring safe, effective and evidence-based advanced practice across all services. Lead workforce development pathways for Advanced Practitioners, including education, supervision, credentialing, appraisal and professional development. Drive quality improvement, audit and innovation programmes that enhance patient outcomes, improve service delivery and support community-based alternatives to hospital care. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Integrated Care System (ICS) partners, Higher Education Institutions and external stakeholders to promote consistency and excellence in advanced practice. Lead and chair Advanced Practice forums and governance groups, providing assurance, reporting and oversight to senior leaders and clinical governance committees. Provide operational leadership, line management and professional support for Advanced Practice teams, Consultant Practitioners and designated clinical leaders. Lead Non-Medical Prescribing governance and promote high standards of safe, effective prescribing practice across community services. Maintain clinical credibility through advanced clinical practice, providing expert assessment, decision-making and support for complex cases where required. The Ideal Candidate Essential Registered with the NMC or HCPC Masters degree in Advanced Practice, or Accredited ACP digital badge. Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification Strong IT skills Registered current Non Medical Prescriber qualification Significant previous experience as an Advanced Practitoner in community, urgent care or acute settings Strong clinical credibility and advanced diagnostic decisionmaking Proven significant experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary team Experience in carrying out clincial audit and quality improvement projects Excellent written, verbal, negotiation and influencing skills Experience developing governance frameworks and supervision infrastructures Abilty to confidently work autonomously, as part of a wider multidisciplinary team and strategically Strong judgement and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex situations, make appropriate decisions, writing reports and developing business cases. Ability to adapt to the demands of a constantly changing environment Desirable Leadership or management qualification Experience working across organisational boundaries. Strong track record of delivering service change or workforce transformation. Other requirements: Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes. Willingness to work across different Trust areas as required. Flexible availability to meet service demands.
