Summary

The Band 5 practitioner role within the Safeguarding Childrens Team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust involves supporting the team in advancing the safeguarding agenda and ensuring quality assurance across the trust. Key responsibilities include acting as an advocate for children, young people, and families; helping the trust meet statutory safeguarding obligations; ensuring health services for vulnerable groups follow safeguarding policies; promoting health and well-being education; assisting with child protection medical processes; supporting Safeguarding Childrens Nurses and escalating concerns; aiding Children in Care clinics; handling sensitive communications across agencies; fostering effective relationships within and outside the trust; advising external agencies on health matters related to safeguarding; and participating in safeguarding audits.
