Summary

Salary NHS Band 3:  £25,760 - £27,476 per annum (Unsocial enhancements as worked) 

Hours per Week:  37.5. Working pattern - 12 hour rotational shifts including days, late's, nights and Bank Holidays over 7 days a week. 

Contract:  Permanent

We are recruiting for Emergency Care Assistants who wish to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards “great people, great place”.

The role will be based at the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service station which is at St Mary's Hospital, full training will be provided.

Applicants will need to have a minimum of a provisional C1 driving licence and have passed both their theory and hazard perception tests at point of application.

The job purpose is to support clinically qualified practitioners / Registered Professionals in the provision of high quality and effective pre-hospital clinical care to the community, responding, when appropriate using advanced emergency driving skills, to medical emergencies, inter-hospital transfers, urgent hospital admissions and other allocated operational duties commensurate with the role and responsibilities, supporting the provision of clinical, social and holistic care to patients in a pre-hospital environment, safely and within appropriate level of training and competency.

There will be an expectation to undertaking a clinical accredited level 3 diploma in Ambulance Emergency and Urgent Care Support. as well as Level 3 certificate in Emergency response and Ambulance Driving

To assist and be led by the registered Paramedic in the clinical care  of patient in urgent and emergency settings

Maintain patient comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.

Assist in the emergency resuscitation of patients, following appropriate training.

Maintain high standards of care in an environment which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.

To undertake professional driving  during urgent and emergency taskings

Responding to urgent and emergency incidents as directed by the clinical co-ordination centre.
