Are you looking for a deeply rewarding role where your life experience, patience, and resilience can make a real difference? If you are seeking a career change, returning to the workforce, or looking to build on your existing background in education, care, or community support, this position offers the chance to directly shape a child's educational journey.

We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide essential academic, social, and emotional support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a crucial role in creating a safe, structured environment where pupils feel supported to engage with learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to put EHCPs into practice.
  • Cultivate a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support classroom behaviour management with a gentle, consistent, and restorative approach.
  • Observe, track, and report on pupil progress, working alongside the wider educational team.

Key Requirements

  • 3-6 months of experience in a school setting or supporting individuals with SEN/SEMH needs. Transferable skills from social care, youth work, or support roles are highly valued.
  • Fully available for full-time, term-time hours across the entire academic year starting in September.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle, essential due to the rural location and limited public transport links.
  • Permanent right to work in the UK is required. We operate a strict no-sponsorship policy.

What This Role Offers

  • Dependable, structured term-time hours that align with school holidays, offering exceptional stability.
  • A warm, collaborative school team committed to continuous professional growth and staff well-being.
  • The opportunity to bring your personal maturity and perspective to a role where every small victory matters.
