SEND Learning Support Mentor
Location: Camborne, Cornwall
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only

We are looking for a SEND Learning Support Mentor to join a specialist education setting in Camborne, supporting children and young people who need additional help to engage with learning and achieve their potential.
You'll work with pupils with a range of needs, which may include Autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and communication difficulties.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop specialist skills and explore where a career supporting young people could take you.
Your role will be centred around building positive relationships with pupils and helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
You could be:
- Supporting a pupil individually during a lesson
- Working with a small group on a learning activity
- Helping a young person manage emotions or frustration
- Encouraging a pupil to become more independent
- Supporting communication and social interaction
- Helping students develop confidence in their own abilities
- Reinforcing positive behaviour and agreed support strategies
- Supporting pupils during activities outside the classroom
- Celebrating progress, including the small achievements that can represent significant steps for individual pupils
You'll work closely with teachers and other members of the specialist support team, learning how different approaches can help young people overcome barriers to education.
You don't need to have your entire career mapped out before applying.

You may already have experience in a school, or perhaps you've worked within care, youth services, sports coaching, mentoring, residential support or another people-focused environment.
You could also be at the beginning of your career and looking for an opportunity to gain meaningful experience.

- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle
- Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one
