As an Electrician in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you’ll carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding, and installation work that helps keep a secure environment safe, compliant, and operational. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring essential services are available when they’re needed most.

What you’ll do as an Electrician

- Carry out fault finding, repairs, and defect rectification on electrical plant and equipment.

- Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with statutory and contractual requirements.

- Install new electrical plant, equipment, and associated systems as required.

- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical distribution systems, including low-voltage and high-voltage infrastructure where authorised and trained.

- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance documentation to support effective repairs and installations.

- Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and performance across the site.

 

Does this sound like you?

- Hold a City and Guilds Electrical Certificate or equivalent recognised electrical trade qualification.

- Have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship.

- Qualified to BS7671 (current edition of the Institution of Engineering and Technology Wiring Regulations).

- Have at least five years’ electrical trade experience following completion of your apprenticeship.

- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a complex operational environment.
