Summary

Management Accountant

Up to £50,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)

9-month fixed term contract / secondment

We're looking for a Management Accountant to join us and help us enable commercial decision-making that drives the performance of our Food Retail business area. We'll look to you to support the delivery of high-profile continuous improvement projects and provide valuable insights (based on financial data) to spot potential risks and opportunities.

What you'll do

* Provide financial support to the relevant budget owners; helping to ensure the accuracy of performance results that directly impact decision-making

* Provide robust financial control over the monthly management accounts; making sure that deadlines are met and delivered to a high standard

* Utilise the appropriate balance sheet accounts to ensure risks are understood and managed effectively

What you'll bring

* An accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent

* Experience preparing and/or reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and improving financial processes

* Familiarity with accountancy systems such as SAP/Cognos (desirable, not essential).

* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)

* Good communication and relationship-building skills

* Support delivery of key activities for the team including audit and transformation projects.
