We're recruiting a
Social Worker to join Jami's Adult Mental Health Service, part of Jewish Care.
This post is full time working Monday to Friday on a 12 month Fixed term contract to cover a secondment. Flexible or part time working will be considered.
As a qualified Social Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting adults experiencing mental illness, psychological distress, trauma and isolation. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll empower individuals to overcome challenges, achieve greater independence and improve their overall wellbeing through recovery-focused, person-centred social work.

About the Service
Jami's Adult Mental Health Service supports members of the Jewish community experiencing mental illness, psychological distress, trauma, isolation and other challenges that impact daily life and wellbeing.
Our approach is recovery-focused, strengths-based and person-centred, helping individuals identify goals, build resilience, develop independence and engage in meaningful occupations and activities. Support is delivered through one-to-one interventions, group programmes, community engagement and partnership working with statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
Working collaboratively with individuals, families, healthcare professionals and community partners, we help improve mental health outcomes and enable people to live fulfilling, meaningful lives.
About the Role
As a Social Worker, you will deliver high-quality, professional social work interventions, supporting people to manage risk, improve wellbeing and maintain independence.
Managing a complex caseload, you will undertake holistic assessments, develop person-centred support plans and use your professional judgement to ensure individuals receive the right support at the right time.
Working closely with colleagues across Jewish Care, as well as statutory and voluntary sector partners, you will contribute to multi-disciplinary working, safeguard vulnerable adults, advocate for those who need support and help shape innovative community-based services that reduce isolation and promote recovery.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing a complex caseload of adults experiencing mental ill health and psychological distress.
- Undertaking comprehensive assessments and developing strengths-based, person-centred support plans.
- Identifying, assessing and managing risk, ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are met and appropriate interventions are implemented.
- Supporting individuals experiencing crisis situations, including homelessness, domestic abuse and suicidal ideation.
- Providing information, advice and advocacy to help people access the services, resources and benefits they need.
- Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, local authorities and voluntary sector partners to coordinate effective support.
- Contributing to support groups, community initiatives and projects that promote recovery, wellbeing and social inclusion.
- Maintaining accurate records using the organisation's CRM system in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
- Participating in supervision, reflective practice and continuous professional development to maintain Social Work England registration.
About You

What You'll Need
Essential
- Qualified Social Worker.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- An up-to-date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio.
- Experience working within health and/or social care.
- Experience carrying out holistic assessments and developing intervention plans.
- Experience supporting adults experiencing mental illness or psychological distress.
