Are you a commercially driven sales professional who loves getting out in the field, opening doors and building long-term customer
relationships?
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract (with the scope for it to potentially
be extended), supporting the growth of our Direct Sales Van Sales channel and helping accelerate opportunities across our Wrights
branded product range.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing role and can spot commercial
opportunities, turn conversations into sales and represent a well-known food brand with confidence and credibility.
About The Compleat Food Group
At The Compleat Food Group, we’re proud to be a food business built on purpose and passion. Formed in 2021, we’re on a mission to
create Food to Feel Good - great quality, tasty and affordable food that people love to eat.
We’re home to some of the UK’s most exciting and loved food brands, including Wall’s Pastry, Pork Farms, Wrights, The Real
Yorkshire Pudding Co., unearthed, Vadasz, Squeaky Bean, Palace Culture, and Harvey & Brockless. Alongside our branded portfolio,
we’re a leading supplier of delicious own-label pastry, sweet bakery, party food, olives and antipasti, added-value egg products,
continental meats, dips and sauces and plant-based food to the UK’s major retailers, as well as across foodservice.
With over 6,000 talented colleagues across 17 sites, and an annual turnover of £1.3bn, we’re united by a shared ambition to shape
the future of food for the better.
Location: Crewe based with additional travel across UK
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:30 – 4:00pm
What you’ll be doing
* Identifying and developing new business opportunities across existing supply routes, as well as exploring new customers,
markets and partnerships.
* Building strong relationships with prospective customers, existing accounts, partners and key stakeholders.
* Presenting the Wrights branded product range with confidence and identifying opportunities across stadia, contract catering,
secondary wholesale, independent retail, convenience and bakery customer channels.
* Generating qualified leads, negotiating commercial opportunities and supporting sustainable short- and medium-term revenue
growth.
* Working closely with internal teams including Finance, Production and Supply Chain to ensure opportunities are delivered
effectively.
* Acting as the face of the business in customer meetings, presentations and day-to-day interactions, representing the brand
professionally at all levels.
What we’re looking for
* Experience in territory-based sales, ideally within food, FMCG or a branded product environment.
* Experience of regional key account management or larger regional contract management would be highly advantageous.
* A good understanding of independent retailers, convenience, bakery customers or similar routes to market would be beneficial.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage customers and influence decision-makers.
* Excellent negotiation, networking and relationship-building skills.
* Commercial awareness, strategic thinking and the confidence to identify profitable growth opportunities.
* A self-motivated, organised and proactive approach, with the ability to manage your own territory and priorities effectively.
Why Join Us?
You’ll be joining a fast-growing business with a strong branded product range, established customer routes and genuine
opportunities to make an immediate commercial impact.
This fixed-term contract would suit someone who can hit the ground running, build momentum quickly and bring energy, credibility
and pace to our Direct Sales channel.
If you’re passionate about sales, confident in the field and motivated by building relationships that deliver real growth, we’d
love to hear from you.
