Lecturer in Singing?

This is a

part-time role, working

22.2 hours per week.

We would particularly welcome applications from people currently working within the industry or with relevant industry experience.

If you aren't sure if you have the right qualifications, or haven't taught before, we can help you train and develop whilst you build practical experience in the classroom.

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-Super-Mare.

Day to day duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver practical and theoretical teaching in vocal technique, performance practice, and repertoire development across FE and HE programmes as agreed with the Head of Area;

  • Plan, direct, and assess student performances, showcases, and live events, supporting the development of professional performance skills;

  • Provide specialist coaching in vocal health, technique, stylistic interpretation, and stagecraft aligned to current industry practice;

  • Support students in developing audition techniques, portfolios, and industry-facing materials (e.g. showreels, recordings, CVs).

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Have a degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject.

  • Have relevant professional or commercial experience.

  • Either hold or be willing to gain a teaching qualification.
