Summary

The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the care home, helping to ensure residents receive safe, effective and person-centred care.

Key responsibilities include supporting staff supervision and shift leadership, maintaining safe staffing and effective handovers, assisting with care plan reviews, audits, medication oversight, quality monitoring and action plans, and supporting recruitment, induction, training and staff development.

The Deputy Manager will respond appropriately to incidents, accidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and emergencies, maintain accurate records, promote dignity, choice and independence, and help ensure the service remains compliant and inspection-ready.

The postholder may be required to take delegated responsibility for the service in the Registered Manager’s absence, within their level of competence and authority.
