Summary
Your role
As a Home Care Assistant, you will provide personalised support based on each client's individual needs, preferences and support plan.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting clients with personal care, including getting up, washing and dressing, bathing and showering, toileting, hair and nail care, shaving, oral care and make-up.
• Supporting clients with medication and catheter care where required.
• Helping with meal preparation and supporting clients with eating and drinking.
• Providing companionship and supporting clients to enjoy activities of their choice, including social activities, outings, crafts, reading, writing and shopping.
• Supporting with practical tasks such as collecting prescriptions, pensions and benefits and paying bills.
• Carrying out light household duties, including laundry, ironing, hoovering, washing dishes and making beds.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with clients, their families, colleagues and other professionals.
• Completing accurate digital care records using a mobile phone app.
• Following individual support plans and ensuring care is delivered safely and to a high standard.
• Reporting any concerns promptly to Managers or Supervisors.
• Working in accordance with Care 24-7 policies, procedures and relevant legal and health and safety requirements.
• Taking part in training and development to continually improve your skills and knowledge.
