At Serco, we're pleased to be recruiting on behalf of Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust.
Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust encourages active, healthy lifestyles across the local community. Providing affordable access to a wide range of sports and leisure facilities in a safe, clean, friendly and welcoming space, their goal is to support healthier and happier lives for everyone. Delivering these services relies on an enthusiastic, customer-focused team, and they're now looking for Swimming Teachers to join their team and help make a positive difference every day.
By following the tried and tested Swim England learn to swim framework we develop the confidence in all our swimmers through fun and enjoyable lessons. Many of our swimmers have progressed to swim competitively and even to represent our country.
Teaching our swimming lessons will see you delivering safe fun and progressive lessons, but this is also a mentality we take towards our teachers' careers and personal development.
What you’ll need to do the role
You will have excellent customer service skills and be someone who is happy to deal with people of all ages and back grounds.
You will need to hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or Swim England (Previously ASA) Level 2.
Holding either a valid RLSS UK NPLQ, RLSS UK NRASTC or STA Safety Award for Teachers would be advantageous but not essential as we can provide the training to complete these courses free of charge.
Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust.
Why join us

A place you can count on: Our swimming teachers are integral to the running of our centres, so as well progressing into aquatics coordination they can move into other centre management roles in one of our 55 facilities.
A place for you : Teaching can lead to a great sense of accomplishment as you watch people progress and work with your local community. And as you’re supporting your students, we’ll be supporting you with ongoing training and development.
