Summary
Key Responsibilities As a Salaried GP at Gateway Primary Care CIC, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate and patient-focused care. Your responsibilities will include: Clinical Care Provide safe, effective and comprehensive medical care to the practice population. Assess patients holistically, considering both their physical and psychological needs. Develop appropriate, personalised management and treatment plans. Manage acute, urgent and complex presentations, including initiating emergency care when required. Provide effective diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of long-term conditions. Make appropriate and timely referrals to secondary care, community services and other agencies. Support patients with health promotion, prevention, healthy lifestyles and self-care. Develop and support anticipatory care plans for appropriate patients. Prescribing & Medication Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with NICE, local and national guidance. Undertake medication reviews in accordance with practice policies, clinical guidelines and local care pathways. Ensure prescribing decisions are evidence-based and focused on patient safety and outcomes. Administration & Clinical Records Complete referrals, prescription requests, correspondence and other administrative tasks in a timely manner. Maintain accurate, comprehensive and contemporaneous clinical records. Ensure all clinical documentation meets professional, legal and practice standards. Teamwork & Practice Contribution Work collaboratively as an integral member of the practice and wider multidisciplinary team. Share responsibility for the practice workload and contribute positively to team working. Attend and contribute effectively to practice and multidisciplinary meetings. Support the wider primary care network and other healthcare professionals. Contribute to staff training, learning and the development of an effective practice environment. Quality, Governance & Improvement Work in accordance with current clinical guidelines, evidence-based practice and audit recommendations. Contribute to clinical governance, QOF, audit and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Take delegated responsibility for specific clinical areas or areas of QOF activity, as appropriate. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of practice services. Promote a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement. Professional Standards & Safeguarding Work in accordance with GMC standards and Good Medical Practice. Comply with relevant legislation and practice policies, including Safeguarding Adults and Children. Maintain professional competence through continuing professional development, self-directed learning and reflective practice. Participate fully in the appraisal process and maintain appropriate records for revalidation. Ensure ongoing fitness to practise and compliance with professional requirements. Regularly review and adhere to practice policies, protocols and procedures. Flexibility Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role, depending on service needs, workload and staffing levels. Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support the practice and wider team where required.
