Summary

Hays are now looking for a

DevOps / Platform Engineer for one of our local clients:

£550 p/d Inside IR35

Remote

6 month+ contract

Must hold SC Clearance

Supporting a critical policing platform within a legacy Oracle-based environment. You'll provide L3 support, maintain and enhance infrastructure, support application and database teams, and contribute to automation and CI/CD improvements.

Key Skills Required

Support and maintenance of legacy applications and infrastructure

CI/CD pipeline development and support

Automated testing and code refactoring

Nginx, Apache Tomcat and HTTP services

ETL processes

Containerisation and virtualisation (Docker, VMware)

Elasticsearch administration and support

Oracle 11 administration including RAC, RMAN and Partitioning

Experience with auditing and protective monitoring integrations

Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Oracle Solaris environments

Platform Technologies

Oracle 11

Responsibilities

Provide L3 support and problem resolution for critical production systems

Maintain and enhance legacy infrastructure and applications

Implement changes within complex legacy environments

Act as a subject matter expert for assigned platforms

Produce and maintain technical documentation

Perform peer reviews and maintain engineering standards

Mentor junior engineers and support team development

Advise on and implement CI/CD and automation improvements

Cognitec FaceVACS

Ideal Background:Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Oracle Engineer, Linux Engineer, Middleware Engineer or Production Support Engineer with strong experience supporting enterprise Oracle and Elasticsearch environments.
