Working hours: 16 hours per week (2 days between Monday - Friday)Interview Date: To be confirmedWe are seeking an experienced and reliable Cleaner to join our dedicated Homelessness Service Team.Greig House Lifehouse provides residential supported accommodation for up to 20 young adults aged 18-25, both male and female, who are experiencing homelessness or have recently left care. Our aim is to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment that empowers young people to move towards independent living and a brighter future.In your role as a Cleaner, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. You will ensure that all communal areas, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and other designated spaces are cleaned to a high standard, helping to create a positive and welcoming living environment for vulnerable young people.Located in East London, the service benefits from free on-site parking, excellent local amenities including shops, cafés and other services, and is just 7 minutes from Canary Wharf. The location is also well connected by the DLR, Underground, and local bus routes, providing easy access across London.Key responsibilities:Carry out a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying bins, and cleaning void rooms, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and other service areas.Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health and safety throughout the building.Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and report any maintenance concerns.Follow agreed cleaning schedules and procedures.Work effectively as part of the wider support team to help maintain a welcoming clean environmentThe successful candidate will have:Previous professional cleaning experience.Good understanding of COSHH, health and safety and cleaning best practices.Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards.Experience working within a supported housing, residential, hostel, care, or similar environment would be advantageousIn order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, a criminal record check (Satisfactory basic DBS Disclosure check and evidence of your Right to Work in the UK in line with Home Office requirements.As we are not a licensed sponsor, applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
