About us
MEMS Power Generation is the leading generator rental supplier in the UK, specialising in sustainable temporary power solutions
with over 48 years of experience. Operating 24/7, we supply temporary power solutions for a diverse range of customers, including
small businesses through to blue-chip multinational organisations and utility companies.
We are the supplier of choice in the UK power rental market focused on sustainability, with a mission to be the company that best
understands our customers' needs for temporary power solutions while providing superior service levels.
About you
You are a confident, motivated professional with a proven track record in sales and account management – ideally within an
engineering or plant equipment environment, although this is not essential. You have strong communication, negotiation and
influencing skills, along with a “can do” attitude that enables you to build lasting customer relationships. You must be able to
work independently, manage multiple accounts and opportunities, and take ownership of your workload.
A good understanding of temporary power solutions and their applications across various sectors would be advantageous. Proficiency
in Microsoft Office and CRM systems is required, with knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Copilot desirable. A full UK driving licence
is required.
Desirable knowledge and experience includes:
* Working with sectors such as healthcare, data centres, utilities, or industrial services.
* Technical knowledge of generators and/or associated plant equipment.
* An established network within the commercial and industrial markets across the Midlands or North of England.
* A demonstrated track record of delivering profitable sales growth.
* The ability to build effective relationships at all levels within customer organisations.
* Strong presentation and influencing skills.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development / Key Account Manager to develop new business opportunities
while growing and strengthening strategic relationships across a diverse customer base.
The successful candidate will act primarily as the commercial interface between MEMS and key customers, taking the time to
understand each customer’s individual project requirements and applications where temporary power solutions are required.
Benefits:
* Company Pension Scheme
* Holiday entitlement that increases with length of service through our company loyalty programme
* Life Assurance Scheme
* Paid volunteering days
* Wellbeing related benefits
* Employee Referral Scheme
* Length of Service Awards
* Free Parking & Refreshments
Key responsibilities
* Achieving sales targets, with a focus on increasing revenue, optimising conversion ratios, delivering exceptional customer
service and maximising profitability.
* Building strong relationships with senior decision-makers, procurement teams, operations managers and engineers to strengthen
and optimise relationships with existing customers.
* Nurturing and growing relationships with infrequent hirers.
* Identifying and developing new opportunities with key target companies to encourage repeat business.
* Managing local and national key accounts.
* Working to customer deadlines for tenders and proposal submissions.
* Delivering the full project lifecycle, from negotiation and customer order through to the delivery of tailored power solutions.
* Conducting regular business reviews with customers to understand their strategic objectives.
* Participating in the on-call rota (1 week in 6) to support emergency customer requirements.
* Staying up to date with market trends, competitor activity and sector dynamics.
* Liaising with key internal stakeholders to deliver complex, customer-centric solutions, including our Solutions, Technical and
Operational teams across MEMS.
This is an exciting opportunity for a successful individual who is looking for a challenge and to work for a progressive company
at the forefront of power generation.
We aim to employ motivated people to continue to represent MEMS as an employer of choice whilst delivering an exceptional service
to our customers. If you believe you have the attributes to join our team, please do so by emailing us your CV. We look forward to
hearing from you…
