Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Smethwick, is looking to recruit an experienced
Wet Paint Sprayer to join their growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes and enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Working Hours
- During peak production periods, including January, you will be required to work a rotating shift pattern:
- 6:00am - 2:00pm
- 2:00pm - 10:00pm
Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
20% shift allowance paid whilst working the rotating shifts.
Applicants must be flexible and willing to work the required shift pattern to meet production and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, clean and mask metal components prior to painting.
- Mix paints accurately in line with technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
- Apply high-quality wet paint finishes using manual spray equipment.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and quality standards.
- Carry out paint quality checks, including:
- Adhesion testing
- Colour matching
- Paint thickness measurements
- Viscosity testing
- Ensure complete primer and paint coverage across all products.
- Safely handle paints, thinners and associated materials in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work closely with Team Leaders and colleagues to meet production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with other production duties, including preparation, inspection and packing, when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Wet Paint Sprayer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience using
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Experience carrying out paint inspections and quality control checks.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A flexible approach to working hours and changing production requirements.
- A positive attitude with a strong focus on quality, safety and reliability.
