Summary
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking
Yard Operative to join a busy and fast-paced operation in the Nottingham area. This role involves the safe handling, movement, and storage of materials within the yard using a counterbalance forklift, as well as supporting the wider team with general yard duties.
The successful candidate must hold a
valid, in-date, and accredited Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence and possess a
full UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Moving, storing, and organising stock within the yard.
- Carrying out goods-in and goods-out activities.
- Conducting daily equipment checks and reporting any defects.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
- Assisting with stock control and inventory checks.
- Following all health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Supporting other departments as required.
Requirements
Essential
- Valid, in-date, and accredited
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience working within a yard, warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and hard-working.
- Experience loading and unloading a variety of materials.
- Additional forklift licences or machinery experience.
- Basic computer skills for stock management systems.
Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS, or equivalent).
