English Lecturer

Salary: Up to £40 per hour (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time

Start Date: September

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging English lessons across a range of levels, including

GCSE English and

Functional Skills English.

Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements.

Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Support learners with varying abilities to improve confidence, literacy, and achievement.

Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement.

Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to enhance learner outcomes.

Ensure all teaching meets safeguarding, equality, and quality standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Experience teaching

English within a Further Education (FE) College or a similar setting.

Excellent subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

A genuine passion for supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

Desirable

PGCE, Cert Ed, or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience delivering

GCSE English and

Functional Skills English.

Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
